In the early 2000s, in Virginia, Ruby Enfamoz and Nina Divine, two lesbian women, established and adjacent scene to the main ballroom scene.
Their goal was to unité those who were put aside, as they felt that ballroom did not cater to butches and women. Initally named the “women’s scene,” it then changed to “WBT” (Women, Butch & Trans coalition) in 2011, led by Icon Jaimee Balenciaga and Icon Shady Prada, as more Transmen began to participate.
=> To honor those who paved the way for greater inclusivity and recognition in ballroom, for all the categories we ask you to bring a claim/statement-be it on a pin, on your outfit, or on a sign-or wear an outfit inspired by your favorite FQ, woman, or TM.

Au début des années 2000, en Virginie, Ruby Enfamoz et Nina Divine, deux femmes lesbiennes, ont créé une scène parallèle à la scène principale de la ballroom. Leur objectif était d’unir les personnes mises de côté, car elles estimaient que la ballroom ne donnait pas leur place aux women et aux butches.
D’abord nommée “Women’s Scene “, cette scène a par la suite été renommée “WBT” (Women, Butch & Trans coalition) en 2011, menée par Icon Jaimee Balenciaga et Icon Shady Prada, voyant que de plus en plus de TM commençaient à participer.
=> Afin de rendre hommage à celles et ceux qui ont ouvert la voie à une plus grande inclusion et reconnaissance dans la Ballroom, pour toutes les catégories nous vous demandons d’apporter une revendication—que ce soit sur un pin’s, sur votre tenue, sur une pancarte— ou de venir avec une tenue inspirée de votre woman, FQ ou TM préféré.
